Personality & Traits

General Overview Outgoing, open-minded, strong hearted, and a spirited teenager, Jayson "Jase" Jackson goes his own way in nearly every aspect of his life. Structured and disciplined enough to perform well academically, but too fidgety to stay still for too long. He is a hands on kinesthetic learner who would rather perform physical activities in order to learn something new and exciting than to sit and listen to a long winded lecture. Jase is the sort kid that likes to take things apart in order to understand how they work, he will make the model volcano that actually has a mild eruption to it than a simulated on. Always on the move, Jase is difficult to keep track of and should be fitted with an ankle monitor to be on the safe side, but the Federation frowns on that.
Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths

Quick and Nimble - Jayson Jackson is notably shorter than most Human adolescent males his age, and barring a growth spurt, he's likely to stay on the shorter side. He's lean, speedy, and agile. He may not have long legs but he does carry some powerful speed in them, and has been known to have excellent reflexes and reaction times.

Easygoing - Though he can enjoy a deep, meaningful conversations, Jase can also be spontaneous and lighthearted. Ultimately, know how to find fun and enjoy the present moment – and few things give him more pleasure than sharing that joy with others.

Weaknesses

Curiosity - Known for allegedly 'killing the cat' as the saying goes, Jase is a very inquisitive boy, and that can be troublesome for a teenager. He has been known to step way outside of his comfort zone and safety just to settle his curiosity, try to piece together a puzzle, and solve a mystery. Jase is always ready to seek out new ideas in search for his next adventure even if there are risks.
Ambitions Jase is the son of a gifted Federation heart surgeon and a prominent and very outspoken Federation politician. Though some of his ancestors have served in Starfleet, none of his immediate family do, and overtime, they have developed a rather strong opinion of Starfleet that has shaped Jase's cautionary perspective of the organization. Starfleet service may or may not be for him, but he's happy to have the opportunity to make the decision for himself when the time is right. For now, he's going to take it one day at a time and live in the moment, soaking in the adventures that this program and Professor Schröder have to offer.
Hobbies & Interests Stargazing

Personal History The son of a Federation politician and a gifted heart surgeon, talent and patience is in his blood. At least that is something he says and would surely put in his autobiography someday when he's accomplished enough to merit writing one. Starfleet though? That is not something his immediate family, particularly his parents acknowledge nor support. His mother has been a very vocal critic of Starfleet the entirety of her career. Yes, there are ancestors in Jase's family that have served in Starfleet, but none in recent generations. Nobody seems to ever want to discuss that portion of family history. Therefore, Jase was raised to view Starfleet in a dimmer light. He has been cautious about his future, and he really is not too certain that Starfleet is the path he wants to take.

Nevertheless, Starfleet is interested in him. At least as much as they can be given the dark cloud that is his mother. Jase attends the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The school is a STEM focused school teaching grades 9th through 12th with a rigorous curriculum with a long history of academic awards and accomplishment. Jase does well in mathematics, but it is science that has drawn his focus. He has a particular obsession with meteorology.

He has not had much time away from Earth, only traveling to Mars and Luna once in a while. The furthest he's been was a trip to Vulcan once. His school is also predominantly Human which has somewhat sheltered him from the Federation's diversity. Though he is unsure about the whole Starfleet thing, his mother did allow him to partake in the Starfleet Academy Preparatory Program because she believes he will do well enough for Starfleet Academy to want him, and has encouraged him to take the entrance examinations when he is ready. Unbeknownst to him, his mother has no intentions on allowing him to attend Starfleet Academy. She is planning on his acceptance letter to be a leveraging point for admissions offices at other academic institutions.
