Minato's eyes widened. "Did that Vulcan just growl at me?"
Emma laughed. "I think he did! Well done Takahashi...Cadet Takahashi."
"Ohhhh I totally love you and shall remain loyal to your coffee chain."
Emma laughed. "Have a great day!" Minato said taking his coffee cup and humming with pleasure at the first sip.
And Now the Continuation...
ON:
Lieutenant JG Lucian
Lucian had finished his coffee and cake this morning, packed his things to send to the ship, and had gotten in a good tactical training course offered by the Space Port. He'd shopped for some items he'd needed, had lunch in his quarters and now found himself walking tot he orientation ceremony.
It has been a while since he attended one of these and he'd never liked them much as they were really meant more for those who'd never served on a ship. The first time he'd been there he'd been disappointed at how universal it all was.
Instead of making it ship specific it more talked about what one needed to do when boarding, what department heads had to do, what staff had to do and how to go about handling civilians on the ship.
The more targeted orientation would happen this evening and those would be by ship. It would be a chance to meet all the other instructors who would be his crewmates and perhaps ask some questions about his specific department.
Also since this was a training ship it would have a layout of the curriculum as well as a familiarization with ships systems not to mention a brief of the first mission the ship would be sent on. In fact the briefing that the students had already had, according to the introduction information, was recorded and would be played for the instructors and then they would have time to ask questions and a more comprehensive technical briefing would happen.
One would think that this would be the best time to go but this first round was mandatory as well.
Sighing Lucian walked in and looked around at the packed auditorium. Just on site there seemed to be no seats. He started walking towards the back. Perhaps something there would be available.
Ensign Minato Takahashi
The morning had been busy. Minato had gotten coffee, met a rude Vulcan, and had packed a few bags sending them off to the USS Warbler and leaving only an overnight bag with a few days clothing and toiletries.
Lunch was consumed in his temporary quarters and now it was time for the Exit Orientation. All officers that were assigned to leave in the next 48 hours would be given a quick hello, this is what you need to know, and goodbye.
Smiling Minato headed into the auditorium finding several people to chat with.
"Well if it isn't soon to be CMO Takahashi. An ensign and a CMO."
Minato laughed at Aurelia. "Well what can I say. I'm just that good." Grinning Minato asked, "So where are you stationed now?"
Aurelia sighed. "USS Pagoda, CMO is Doctor Velgvel."
Minato grimaced. "Ohhh, my condolences. She's... interesting."
"She's a B...."
"Aurelia no bad words today." Minato said. "You never know who is listening and I for one am in too good a mood to cuss."
Aurelia sighed. "I bet if you went you'd be fine. Everyone likes you. Velgvel would probably adore you the second she met you."
Minato laughed. "No, sadly not all adore me. I met a Vulcan today that was just...immune to my charms."
Aurelia laughed. "Ohhhhh I want to meet this Vulcan."
Orientation
As if conjured by her very words Lieutenant Lucian walked into the auditorium and looked around. The seats were all taken except in the last row.
Sighing Lucian moved that way only to stop half way when a familiar Silver haired demon became visible. He stifled a groan.
Out of this entire station I had to be forced to sit behind Chatty Kathy. He shook his head and slowly made his way to the only available seat. Lucky for him the the silver haired demon didn't notice him.
Quietly he sat down trying...and failing to not hear the conversation in front of him.
"So..." The woman with the Ensign began. "How do you feel about heading out into the stars?"
The Ensign sighed. "Okay I guess. It's better to be there then here. I need a new chapter. I need some time to digest a lot of things, work on myself and honestly get away from Sato and Martin."
The woman placed an arm on the Ensign's back patting it lightly. "Yeah I can imagine. How are you doing emotionally by the way?"
"Oh Gods Aurelia. Don't go all counselor on me. I'm fine. Betrayed, angry, hurt, devastated. I mean I built a life for us in my mind and thought that he reciprocated and then...he just tossed me aside as if I was nothing." Minato sighed. "You'd think I'd get used to it by now but..."
Lucian raised an eyebrow. That story hit home more then it should. Suddenly he didn't hate the silver haired demon as much.
"All that and I have to face my arch nemesis the turbolift."
Aurelia laughed. "Oh my bones. How have you been in Starfleet so long and still are afraid of turbolifts?"
Lucian's lip twitched. A fear of turbolifts? Fascinating.
Before Minato could respond the orientation started. It was long and boring but at the end of it the Minato stood up and turned around. "Oh!"
Lucian raised an eyebrow saying nothing.
Aurelia's eyes sparkled. "Oh my! Are you the Vulcan that failed to fall for Minato's charm?"
Lucian's eyes shifted to her and then back to the Ensign. He stood up and gave Minato a glare before muttering 'Ridiculous' and walked away.
Minato turned to his friend. "Did he just give me the Vulcan death glare?"
Aurelia laughed. "I don't think that exists but if it did I think that's what it would look like."
Minato sighed. "Great!"
